Siding
Siding keeps the weather out of the walls. We replace it whole or repair the damaged runs, matching what is there when we can.
- Stronger protection
- Storm resistant
- Built to last
What is it?
Wind-driven rain is the test. The siding sheds most of it; the house wrap and the flashing behind it handle the rest. A re-side is the time to fix what sits underneath: soft sheathing, missing wrap, poor flashing at windows and doors.
The usual choices on Connecticut houses: vinyl, which costs least and needs little care; fiber cement, heavier and harder-wearing; and cedar shingles or clapboard, which suit older homes and need the most upkeep.
The material, the make and the color are set out in your written estimate.
When do you need it?
- Cracked, warped or loose panels, or pieces in the yard after a storm.
- Soft spots, swelling or rot along the bottom courses and around windows.
- Paint that will not stay on wood siding.
- You are replacing the roof and want the outside done in one job.
What does it cost?
Siding is priced by wall area, material and trim, and by how much behind it needs repair.
We measure on site and give you a written price.
