Roof repair

Most leaks start at the details: flashing around a chimney or skylight, a cracked boot on a vent pipe, nails backing out, shingles lifted by the wind, or ice backing water up under the eaves.

We look at the roof and, where we can get in, the attic, so the repair goes where the water starts rather than where it shows.

• A stain on a ceiling, or drips in the attic after rain.
• Shingles or ridge caps in the yard after a windy night.
• Ice dams along the eaves, or water inside after a thaw.
• Daylight through the roof boards, or a soft spot in the attic.

A repair is priced once the problem is found: the cause, how far the damage goes and what it takes to fix it.
